Long Beach, CA – August 15, 2011
Summer and winter breaks are exciting seasons for students of all ages. However, in our office of Elite Talent Exchange (ETE), you're as likely to find folks cheering about the holidays as you will in any school.
Our staff has been working hard this year putting together our flagship Elite Basketball/English Program. The program by ETE features summer and winter camps every year which are designed as an all-rounded and away-from-home experience for middle and high school students from Taiwan who are enthusiastic about basketball and eager to learn English.
The camp mainly features Basketball training sessions, English classes, and tours around Southern California. ETE has been so meticulous about our program that we have very carefully selected our own coaches, teachers, tour guides, and partners to work according to our high standard.
The basketball training will be led by Coach Ray Johnson, the head coach of our professional basketball team. The professional basketball training coupled with an all English environment would be a new experience for the Taiwanese kids. We believe that this arrangement works both ways to improve their basketball skills as well as conversational English. At the same time, they will have a fun and challenging learning about teamwork and foreign culture.
The English classes are specially structured to provide a challenging but not overwhelming learning experience for the kids. The instructors are also well-trained to accommodate the Asian learning style. They encourage students to express themselves, which many Asian students shy away from. Many students may be surprised when they realize the extent of improvement they are able to achieve in these intensive sessions.
Of course, to reward them for studying hard, ETE has put together a tour which is a great mix of fun and education. The kids would be thrilled at classic destinations such as Disneyland and Universal studios, while UCLA and USC tours serve as history lessons and to inspire them. Also, events like going to NBA/MLB games, visiting Getty Museum, watching Cirque du Soleil show and more will definitely impart them the most remarkable memories of their lives.
The closing ceremony features personal coaching sessions with NBA players who will grace the event. These NBA players will reward all participants by signing autographs and taking photos together with them.
ETE hopes that our program will not only be a fun way for the kids to spend the summer/winter breaks but serve to inspire all participants with the passion to learn new things and challenge themselves beyond their daily routine to better their lives.
