Anaheim, CA – September 3, 2011
The third and final tryout camp of Camerababy Elite Basketball Team was held at the American Sports Center in Anaheim. There was a good turnout of twenty players despite the fact that Camerababy Elite having already held two tryouts for two consecutive Saturdays previously. A total number of more than fifty players turned out for Camerababy Elite tryouts. Both the large number of players present and the quality of these players make the Camerababy Elite tryouts a success.
Similar to the two previous tryouts, the players were grouped into four teams which played against one another in six ten-minute games. At the end of that, the players were regrouped into four different teams to play two more ten-minute games. This arrangement allows detailed observations on both the skills of the players as well as their interaction with teammates. Even at the third tryout, some excellent basketball talents were spotted.
Robert Curtis, the 6'9'' power forward from Saddleback College, started off good but improves even more as he played on. His physique and excellent coordination make him a great basketball player. Eric Williams, the 6'3'' shooting guard, showed scoring abilities and was stunning with his fluid movements. Another rare find was Anthony Washington, the 6'9'' center who commanded the court with his excellent basketball sense and leadership skills which enables him to lead his team into victory with ease. Both Travis Taylor and Curry McKinney also showed themselves to be skillful with the ball and in good control of the game.
This final tryout is a great ending for the series of tryout camps Camerababy Elite has been holding. Excellent talents were spotted in all three tryouts. This poses certain difficulties in the selection of players for Camerababy Elite, but the President of Elite Talent Exchange, Michael Hsu, sees it as “a good problem.” He also feels very confident about the Asian Tour ahead as a result of the successful tryout camps. The results of the tryouts are expected to be announced in the next week. The training for the Asian Tour will commence soon after.
