Camerababy Elite vs. Taiwan Mobile – A Bloody Massacre
“This was how we should play,” said Coach Johnson. “We were not mentally and physically ready for the last two matches due to many factors, but the performance we had put up this morning had shown that we are now ready.” Both teams started out bent on advancing and Taiwan Mobile scored the first two points. However, there was no scoring for the next two minutes even though both sides made several attempts. Things got smooth for the Camerababy Elite as Lathan puts the team six points ahead with series beautiful steals and dunks. Meanwhile, Jones contributed to the defense with blocks and rebounds. The last steal by Taylor marked the end of the smooth attacks and the game reached a stalemate for the last one and a half minute of the first quarter. The quarter ended with the Camerababy Elite leading 25-12. Taiwan Mobile resumed its attempt at advancing in the second quarter but was hampered by the Camerababy Elite's strong defense. The highlight of this game seemed to be the Camerababy Elite's swift steals as Lathan continued on his steal spree and Jones and Smith joined in as well. Three times Lathan crossed the court unhindered and finished up with dunks. By the end of second quarter, the disparity was gapping. The Camerababy Elite led with 56-22.. Third quarter carried on with the trend started in second quarter; Camerababy Elite continued to rain down its heavy attacks on Taiwan Mobile which bled badly and was in no condition to defend. Towards the end of the quarter there was a comical moment as five players slipped on a wet spot and fell on one another. At the last second, Taylor attempted to finish off with a dunk but failed as his left little finger with a torn ligament was caught in the net. Taylor was given immediate medical attention and sat out for the rest of the game. At the last quarter, Taiwan Mobile finally got their acts together and started performing. Meanwhile, Camerababy Elite lost some of its momentum due to the huge leading in score. Several players on Taiwan Mobile who had not scored previously began to seize the opportunity and scored. Taiwan Mobile packed home an excellent 30 points in the last quarter while the Camerababy Elite only scored 18. However, the disparity between the two was already insurmountable and the Camerababy Elite still ended up winning 94-64. “We will have to play another game at 5:30 this afternoon. This only gives us four hours between then and then,” said Coach Johnson. “We will have to have quick lunch and quick rest, and then come back to the court again. This is a tricky schedule, but we will deal with it.” At 5:30 this afternoon, the Camerababy Elite will face Yulon Luxgen, one of the very best team in Taiwan since 1980’s.
